- Designing, implementing and continuously improving PFG's network infrastructure.
- Ensuring reliable and highly available network architecture for mission‑critical applications.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues in collaboration with other IT teams.
- Partnering across teams to deliver network solutions supporting business and IT initiatives, communicating designs, plans, and impacts to stakeholders.
- Integrating core networking with hybrid (VMware) environments and cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
- Implementing and maintaining network security controls to protect network integrity.
- Administering and planning upgrades for network platforms (firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, load balancers, etc.).
- Leading network changes end‑to‑end, including peer review and rollback planning.
- Managing capacity planning and lifecycle activities to support growth and resilience.
- Driving network automation and configuration management (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git‑based workflows).
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and contributing to team standards and best practices.
- Maintaining clear documentation of current and future network designs.
- Participating in after‑hours on‑call rotation.
- 5+ years of networking experience supporting multi‑site, fault tolerant networks and telecommunication solutions.
- Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Cisco CCNP, CCIE certifications or equivalent experience.
- Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and 3 Protocols including Spanning Tree, Multicast, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise network platforms such as Cisco, Meraki and Fortinet (or equivalent), including routers, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with SD‑WAN technologies.
- Experience working with and implementing Zero Trust Network architecture.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to document on the go.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimum supervision.
- Programming skills and knowledge of design patterns for various programming and scripting languages is considered an asset.
