Description

On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") to join their company located in Victoria, BC.

As the CFO, you will be responsible for driving the organization's financial performance and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play an integral role in shaping the company's financial strategy and ensuring its successful execution.

Your strategic thinking, financial expertise, and leadership abilities will be instrumental in driving financial performance, implementing process improvements, and supporting the company's growth objectives.


Responsibilities:


Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, focusing on sales, costs, productivity, and margins to identify key issues and provide insights to management.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and ensure their timely delivery.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Conduct cash analysis and manage cash flow effectively to support daytoday operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Optimize working capital and implement strategies to enhance cash flow.

Budgeting and Projections:

  • Manage the budget process, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to establish realistic projections.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates and analysis to management.

Decision Support:

  • Provide management with vital financial information and analysis to support the decisionmaking process.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic initiatives and business growth.

External Audit Coordination:

  • Coordinate activities with external auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of audit deliverables and address any auditrelated inquiries.

Process Improvement and Accounting Operations:

  • Assess current accounting operations and implement improvements and new processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide management of the Accounting Department staff, including mentoring, performance management, and fostering professional development.

HR Department Oversight:

  • Oversee the HR Department in the areas of payroll, benefits, and WCB payroll reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Teamwork and Other Duties:

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, working closely with crossfunctional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Complete other duties as necessary or assigned to support the overall success of the company.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional ability to monitor, allocate, and control finances on a large scale, demonstrating a track record of successful financial management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a proven ability to lead and inspire a finance team and drive results.
  • Indepth knowledge of finance, accounting, and numeracy, including a comprehensive understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the capability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for decisionmaking.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrating a high level of commitment, integrity, and attention to detail in financial management and reporting.
  • Ability to present financial analysis and projections to company stakeholders, effectively communicating financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies, implement process improvements, and drive financial performance.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
