Your day to day:


  • Assisting technicians in effectively performing their daytoday tasks
  • Supervising & training apprentice technicians
  • Monitoring the quality of work in progress
  • Test driving all vehicles service for drivability or noise complaints & to ensure repair quality on all appropriate comebacks
  • Dispatching & assisting in dispatching work based on technician skill levels
  • Communicating with the Service advisors on the status of the work in progress
  • Monitoring technicians use of time
  • Keeping technical bulletins & workshop literature updated
  • Maintaining & enforcing workshop housekeeping & safety standards
  • Maintaining an accurate & upto date inventory of tools & equipment
  • Performing quality control inspections as required
  • Conducting technical training for department employees
  • Ensuring all technicians are advised of current technical information
  • Other tasks, as assigned by the Service manager

What you bring to the table:

  • Advanced product knowledge
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a service technician
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicle electronic components, theory, systems & testing tools & procedures
  • Experience in diagnosing & repairing all key vehicle systems & components
  • Knowledge in the proper procedures for handling hazardous materials
  • Knowledge in the proper procedures for tools & equipment
  • Knowledge in the proper procedures of health & safety at work
  • Staff management skills
  • Clerical skills
  • Ability to interpret & evaluate R.O.s & department efficiency, productivity, & performance reports
