The Information Coordinator works as an integral member of the Student Success Executive Office.

The incumbent is responsible for the coordination, content development, and management of digital and print communications for the Student Success Executive Office and its departments.

The incumbent provides leadership in the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of outreach and events that promote student well-being and academic success for all Student Success departments.

An additional area of responsibility includes providing writing and copyediting support for all Student Success initiatives.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring that all information is consistent with the Student Success Executive Office and maintaining all Conestoga College brand identity as required
  • Coordinating the timing of the dissemination of information to maximize their impact and avoid overloading students/faculty/staff
  • Conducting regular research to gauge current student understanding of services and determine what issues are important to students to support planning efforts
  • Researching innovative and creative methods/opportunities to engage students effectively
  • Collaborating with the college marketing department to ensure strategies are consistent with college best practices
  • Participating in relevant meetings and actively contributing to project teams and relevant external committees
  • Developing strong relationships with, Student Government (CSI), and other key departments on campus to identify opportunities for collaboration to increase communication and enhance resources available to students on all campuses
  • Supporting the development, review, and delivery of internal communications for the Student Success Executive Office
  • Regularly curating all online content (website, social media, student portal) according to the student life cycle (create, edit, and publish content in SharePoint accordingly)
  • Identifying design needs and working with a creative team of graphic designers and parttime staff, student volunteers, paid student leaders, and college personnel to support the creation of accessible marketing materials that reinforce the brand of Student Success and Conestoga College
  • Ensuring all digital and print communications/marketing materials are consistent with brand and design standards established by the communications team
  • Working with stakeholders in Student Success and IT to ensure the website design (including look, feel, functionality/user experience) is studentcentered and accessible
  • Coordinating and supporting the production and distribution of print marketing/communication materials (e.g. posters, banners, signage, and resource materials)
  • Working with key stakeholders in Student Success to participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training processes for student staff, coop students, and/or student volunteers
  • Functioning as the communications and engagement resource for Student Success, sharing expertise and developing intuitive and easytouse materials that allow department staff to execute communication and event tasks independently
  • Creating an additional plan as part of the Student Success Communications Plan, that is targeted to an internal audience (college faculty and staff) and that provides information on the Student Success Executive Office activities
  • Creating and overseeing the communications to support new processes and activities within the Student Success Executive Office
  • Working with the Student Success management team to provide support and create communication pieces for projects and new initiatives as required
  • Preparing an annual review on behalf of the Student Success Executive Office and its departments

Qualifications:

  • Three-Year Diploma/Degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Arts, or a related field of study
  • Five years of relevant practical experience in digital communications as well as demonstrated work experience creating, editing, and publishing digital content
  • Highly computer literate with strong Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Experience with MS SharePoint is an asset
  • Ability to quickly master new/emerging technology tools
  • Project management course(s) considered is considered an asset
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills,
