The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province.

The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Organizational Health and Safety teams.

About this role:


Supporting the Human Resources departments, the Manager, HR Data Analytics leads the development and implementation of corporate-wide programs, services, and initiatives, to support a data-driven approach to HR service delivery across the LDB.

The Manager consults with the HR Directors in each respective area to make strategic recommendations for process improvement, liaises with the LDB IT departments on current software functionality that could support HR goals, and develops and leads cross-functional HR projects.

The Manager also supports the HR analyst roles embedded in each department to provide guidance and direction on complex analysis of relevant HR data and the use of various tools to translate data into meaningful metrics to support business decisions.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia. A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

Position requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in HR, public administration, social sciences, business administration, or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of recent, related experience*.
OR

  • Diploma or certificate in HR, public administration, social sciences, business administration and a minimum of three (3) years of recent, related experience*.
OR

  • Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate and a minimum of four (4) years of recent, related experience*.
  • Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last six (6) years and include all of the following:
  • Experience providing expert advice and recommendations to client groups and/or senior management.
  • Experience developing or managing HR programs or projects.
  • Experience working with Visio or flowcharting software.
  • Experience using software such as PowerBI, MS Power Automate, or Tableau for data management and analysis.
