    Instructional Services requires an experienced educator who will provide facilitation across Parkland School Division's 23 schools. Please note that the Instructional Services Facilitator position exists as a seconded position for a two-year term.

    Position Summary

    Instructional Services Facilitators support schools to strengthen classroom program delivery. Primarily, we are seeking an experienced educator who is recognized for strength in social studies, across the grades. Instructional Services Facilitators support the full programs of study, and strength in additional core subjects will be considered an asset.

    Please note that Instructional Facilitators work with the full range of the programs of study. Notably, French Immersion experience or French language proficiency will also be considered an asset, but is not required. As master teachers, our Facilitators bring a variety of skills and expertise, and our intention will be to utilize your full range of skills and experiences.

    Our successful Instructional Services Facilitators are able to:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the development of social studies-specific competencies and social studies pedagogy across the grades; and/or
  • Utilize emerging technology effectively in the classroom and understand the role of technology learning in the career context, while leveraging and leading the implementation of artificial intelligence in education; and/or
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the development of science-specific competencies and science pedagogy across the grades.
    Reporting to either the Division Principal for Literacy, and Lifelong Learning, or to the Division Principal for Numeracy and Achievement, the daily responsibilities for Instructional Services Facilitators include:
  • Modeling lessons in active classrooms;
  • Developing and facilitating PD sessions for new curriculum implementation;
  • Conducting data analysis and utilizing the results to inform programming;
  • Resource exploration and implementation;
  • Facilitating Professional Development at various schools, including occasional air travel to Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan;
  • Supporting schools with developing and embedding technology in education; and
  • Supporting schools to develop expertise in all other areas within the Alberta Programs of Study as required;
  • Must have valid Alberta Teacher Certification.
  • Facilitators must agree to respect the confidentiality and personal integrity of students, parents, teachers and other staff.
