Compliance Manager

***Reporting to the Group Director, Legal and Compliance, the Compliance Manager will provide practical, solution-based advice and oversight to business units and functional departments regarding compliance matters. The Compliance Manager will also have a hands-on role in designing, implementing, monitoring, and auditing compliance activities across the organization, including developing standardized policies, procedures, and processes and training to develop best practices and support compliance activities by the Company.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Assist with handson implementation and oversight of the NFI Group Compliance Function within the Legal and Compliance department.
  • Conduct a comprehensive compliance activity assessment of each business unit and functional department to determine regulatory compliance requirements, processes, and risks, identify process gaps, and propose solutions.
  • Maintain and keep current regulatory compliance activity listing for each business unit and functional department.
  • Design and monitor compliance oversight processes and/or systems to ensure the business units and functional departments meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Determine support structure for business units and functional departments to provide advice and support regarding their compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with leaders and compliance activity owners in each business unit and functional department to provide advice and monitor regulatory compliance responsibilities in all business areas.
  • Perform periodic regulatory compliance assessments of the compliance activity requirements of each business unit and functional department.
  • Work collaboratively with the Company's Audit and Risk Management Services team to support regular internal audits of the Compliance Function.
  • Develop and conduct regulatory compliance training with the NFI Learning Institute for
- business unit and functional department compliance activity owners.

  • Assist the NFI Legal and Compliance group and the compliance activity owners and leaders in the business units and functional departments in handling incidents of noncompliance.
  • Manage compliance projects on an _ad hoc_ and ongoing basis and identify compliance process enhancements and improvements.
  • Develop regular reporting processes for the compliance function for the company's senior executive leadership team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in a business discipline.
  • Current recognized certification with a regulatory compliance organization is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an audit, risk or compliance role in a company or internal audit function or similar environment with a preference towards management experience.
  • Experience responding to complex inquiries, performing compliance and regulatory research, analyzing data, recognizing risks and problemsolving.
  • Advanced analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong organizational, timemanagement and multitasking skills.
  • Superior work ethic, highly accountable for exceptional work quality, and a keen desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
