The WSÁNEC School Board invites Applicants for the following position:

1.0 FTE Continuing Position:
Vice-Principal (Excluded), 7 hrs. per day, Monday to Friday, at the W_SÁNEC Leadership Secondary School beginning immediately.


The Vice-Principal will possess:

Ability to work collaboratively with the Principal of W_SÁNEC Leadership Secondary School

A forward thinking vision of learning in line with BC's modernized curriculum, W_SÁNEC School Board's Strategic Plan, and SENCOTEN revitalization

Ability to effectively grow enrolment and enhance the development of programming

Ability and interest in helping to develop a learning community by working with FN communities, including leaders, families, and learners to help enrich FN learning experience

Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues to inspire learners at all levels to reach potential and explore opportunities for learning

A commitment to Indigenous curriculum development in language, history and culture, tradition, and language continuity

Excellent skills in leveraging individuals in the formation of a strong school culture and community involvement

Ability to effectively liaise with First Nations Schools Association (FNSA), other First Nations organizations and with local School Districts

A commitment to supervise and assess performance to ensure alignment with organizational standards

Ability to chart a course towards Dogwood Accreditation

Preference will be given to First Nations Ancestry


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Masters preferred

Current Membership in the BC College of Teachers

TQS Card

A minimum of 2 years administrative experience in a First Nations School

A solid understanding of, and experience with the new BC Curriculum
