Reporting to the Area Director, the Area Manager guides a strong team focused on client experience ensuring consistency in the execution of established systems, structures and process that lead to superior business performance.

Building, leading, and inspiring a talent-rich network through coaching, mentoring, and leading by example, you will carry an active caseload.

The Area Manager will strategically drive engagement and quality in services and actively seek opportunities with existing and new business partners.

The Area Manager facilitates daily efficient operations across clinics, ensuring successful attainment of business objectives, including an exemplary customer experience, efficient and effective clinical programs, and engaged and high performing teams.

A focus on complex and acute care services including physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and mental health will be the key to success in executing this mandate.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Draw and retain highperforming talent that naturally lives the purpose, values, and client promise of the organization
  • Coach, mentor, and support the growth and development of leaders and future leaders within Area, actively mapping succession plans, and ensuring career paths are tangible and attainable
  • Coach, mentor, develop and performance manage team members through consistent use of PPD process, ensuring all team members understand their key accountabilities and perform to the expected level
  • Lead and support Area engagement initiatives by executing on action plans derived from engagement survey results, town halls, and advisory committees to create strong team member experience
  • Lead and support Area clinics in delivering all services with a focus on excellence in client experience
  • Lead effective labour planning, managing clinical billable and nonbillable time to expectation, indirect labour spend management and vacation planning to optimize utilization and ensure staffing requirements meet demand for access to care and clinical service provision.
  • Implement service delivery models across clinics while monitoring and driving schedule occupancy/clinician utilization
  • Review and report on clinical performance indicators ensuring performance is tracking to, or exceeding, expectations
  • Analyze and submit monthly financial and KPI reports and results for the Area and independent business units
  • Perform operational analysis through documentation, reporting and analysis of data, throughput, cash management, schedule management and business performance
  • Provide timely, accurate forecasting and ensure the right systems and structures are in place to achieve targeted financial outcomes
  • Approves payroll of variable and salary Employee pay and Independent Contractor hours ensuring payroll accuracy through review of payroll precheck.
  • Communicates approved Employee and Independent Contractor pay to payroll and completes second check on registers once entered into to UKG before payroll is processed
  • Ensures all change of status forms for Employees are completed and submitted to payroll
  • Work cross functionally with the National Centralized Business Office to execute on intake and scheduling to ensure effective client care and operational performance (AR, Billing, KPI), and also with Shared/Corporate Services (Facilities, IT)
  • Execute plans to safeguard effective operational and financial controls; ensuring that processes align with standard operating procedures and comply with contractual agreements and privacy policy
  • Foster and deepen relationships with existing business partners and stakeholders to increase volume with existing services and identify gaps that create new service delivery opportunities
  • Actively seek out new opportunities to build relationships and grow the business, e.g., potential acquisitions, local community physician relationships
