Deliver to be successful. - In this role you will:_
- Work closely with and provide support to the Director, Sustainment as required
- Be responsible to the Director, Sustainment for the delivery of sustainment support to the Victoria Class Submarine (VCS) per the requirements of the Victoria In Service Support Contract (VISSC). This support is specifically for the VCS platform system
- For class wide configuration management; and
- For VISSC elements associated with System Integration and Engineering Services.
- Work closely with the Combat Systems Program Manager, and ILS Program Manger, who hold complementary responsibilities across Combat Systems and ILS
- Perform Program Management activities in your area of responsibility such as (but not limited to):
- Provide expert advice to the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) on the sustainment of the VCS Platform System
- Work with DND and the RCN to identify appropriate platform system sustainment activities for the VCS
- Program management, monitoring and guiding platform system sustainment activities to ensure the best VCS program outcomes
- Provide direction and guidance to Project Managers and Project Technical Leads to enable successful delivery of Sustainment projects
- Chair bimonthly Platform Systems focused Risk Management Board reviews
- Manage the development and upkeep of processes and work instructions essential to the conduct of your responsibilities
- Provide support to Business Development as required
- Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Navy and its In-Service Support processes, and 10 + years' experience with the sustainment or operation of naval platform systems. (Preferably submarines)
- Strong interpersonal skills that will support a variety of activities including internal teambuilding and external customer engagement
- A broad engineering/technical background with a diploma or degree in a related engineering field
- Strong critical thinking and complex problemsolving skills
- Positivity, resilience, and focus
- Excellent written (technical) and oral communication skills, including presentation in front of groups and the ability to communicate complex information to people at all organizational levels
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
