The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for helping to grow the Swish brand, by facilitating new business growth as part of the Inside Sales team.

In this role, the key focus will be for the BDR to secure new business opportunities by way of cold calling, meeting new potential customers, researching and hunting untapped markets/territories and securing new appointments.

BDRs will work closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs) and transfer new warm leads and appointments to the BDMs to close the sale.

What does a Business Development Representative do?

  • Understand and articulate Swish's Value Proposition to customers.
  • Responsible for research, analysis, and identifying new potential customers with the goal of increasing the customer base in a variety of industries and territories.
  • Responsible for prospecting and qualifying new business leads for potential new customers and transferring them to Business Development Managers.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of industry market conditions and trends.
  • Responsible for maintaining uptodate activities in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to track and review the new sales growth pipeline.
  • Support vendor programs as well as internal marketing initiatives.
  • Research and understand Swish's product line and be familiar with each product's function and purpose, in order to confidently upsell customers to compatible products.
  • Listen attentively to consumer questions and provide answers that are knowledgeable and insightful to encourage product sale.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss benchmarks and personal as well as team goals for the upcoming week.
  • Responsible for collaborating with internal departments as required to meet potential customer needs.
  • Fully leverage all resources and technical support available.
What do you need?

  • 12 years of experience in a customer service/sales position
  • Basic customer service skills to confidently and accurately address customers' needs
  • B2B experience considered an asset
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • Tech savvy, with strong computer and technical skills including but not limited to MS Excel
  • Experience with a CRM and other sales technologies is considered an asset
  • Attention to detail to accurately process invoices
  • Professional demeanor and telephone etiquette
  • Postsecondary education or relevant experience
