SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts is one of Canada's leading hotel management companies and manages a large portfolio of full-service, focused service and extended stay hotels across Canada.

The company manages independent hotels and hotels operating under major franchise brands, such as Marriott and Hilton.

We are looking for a full-time Sales Coordinator at our Halifax properties.


What You'll Do:


  • Manage telephone inquiries for the sales department regarding servicing customers, marketing, and promotional opportunities and account qualifying.
  • Provide general office administration including filing, monitoring and replacement of collateral, office supplies, fax/photocopier maintenance etc.
  • Assist as needed in preparing proposals, contacts, block space and followup regarding room block updates
  • Assist with new prospects and target lists, coordination of sales blitzes and client service events.
  • Compile and manage database for promotional mailings.
  • Assist with preparation for tradeshows and sales missions.
  • Assist with monthly action plans with the input of the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Coordinate meeting room booking procedures, conduct site inspections, track payments and compile and analyze reports relating to wash factors, lost business, sales booking reports and cancellations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; able to respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Effectively manage budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs.
  • Assist as needed in strategic planning of budgets and programs including advertising, public/media relations, database/direct marketing, sales promotions, event marketing, website and collateral development.
  • Attend preevent meetings as needed; attend and assist hotel functions when needed.
  • Ensure all reader boards are programmed and current.
  • Responsible for leading and promoting engaging and creative Social Media content of both hotels across all social media channels.
  • Write and maintain content on social media; provide monthly updates to company websites.
  • Interact regularly with sales, marketing and hotel leaders to talk about communication/promotion/marketing needs
  • Coordinate efforts to manage the customer data
  • Other related duties as assigned.

You Have and You're Good at:

  • 1-year sales and/or hotel operational experience in a hotel environment.
  • Postsecondary education in Hospitality, Commerce, Business Administration or marketing.
  • Knowledge of events and catering processes.
  • Computer skills including: MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Opera and/or related catering/sales program.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations; pleasant phone manner and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; high level of attention to detail.
  • Effective sales skills to secure new business and upsell products and services.
  • Knowledge of Front Office/Reservations/Sales procedures.
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with creating and promoting social media content considered an asset.
  • Able to multitask, meet timelines and prioritize in a fastpaced environment.

  • Shifts: Will include mostly days M
  • F (evenings, weekends, and holidays on occasion)
