Responsibilities:


  • Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; plan and schedule labour on a daily basis and assist in the annual labour budget process.
  • Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Inbound/Outbound Department and analyze inbound/outbound volumes to maximize efficiency in the departments.
  • Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures.
  • Develop employees through coaching, goal setting, conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities.
  • Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform preshift checks.
  • Manage the department schedule including planning for seasonal changes.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving department reporting.
  • Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees.
  • Involvement in employee annual reviews and development discussions
  • Conduct reviews for accuracy with inventory team
  • Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures.
  • Achieve departmental goals through effective staff engagement. Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary education in Distribution and Logistics an asset
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail
  • Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventorycontrolled environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling technique.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Selfmotivated, high energy and a strong work ethic.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize.
