Summary:


Under the direction of the Supervisor for Housing, the Housing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of his/her assigned housing sites, including renting units, rent collection, arranging site maintenance and related duties.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Receive, receipt, and prepare bank deposits for rent when the Program Assistant is not available.
  • Follow up on unpaid rents and in consultation with the Supervisor/Director and in line with program policy create and record payment plans. Proceed to eviction if required.
  • Arrange and oversee maintenance services/work ensuring that work is complete as identified, requested, or directed.
  • Monitor the building(s) for patterns, emerging maintenance issues/concerns. Recommend improvements.
  • Annually inspect all units and inspect sites weekly. Document these inspections and arrange for maintenance follow up.
  • Monitors and authorizes program expenditures and maintains financial records in accordance with established procedures. Provides input to the Director in preparation of the program budget.
  • Document and create reports related to service provision as requested.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation and service tracking systems. Ensure supplier billings are received and processed to the supervisor in a timely manner. Shared rotation of the emergency phone for 2 weeks approximately every 6 weeks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in a related human / social service field
  • Two (2) years' experience in Property management, familiarity with poverty issues, group management and leadership, conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Accuracy with numbers. Access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.
