What you'll do:
- Perform customer service and cashier functions
- Manage all direct reports
- Coordination of cashier activities on a daily basis act as a resource for cashiers; referring complex issues to management; provide input into the performance management process
- Oversee the efficient running of the cash office (i.e. pick us, deposits, cash losses etc)
- Analyze reports to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions as needed (productivity reports, override reports, journal logs and cash tray discrepancies)
- Ensure price integrity by assisting in time file data management, price changes and scan log procedures
- Oversee the daytoday operations of a specific department within a store
- Train and develop department associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising
- Maintain a clean and safe department for customers and employees
- Manage departmental expenses and assist in budget preparation
- Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to ensure storewide goals are being met
- Be constantly on the lookout for great talent to join our team
- Lead, coach and motivate colleagues to improve productivity, engagement and retention
- Be committed to maintaining merchandising and operational standards
- Any other duties that may be required to ensure courteous friendly service, competitively priced products and a store that meets and maintains the hygiene

What you bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
- Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Problem solving skills including responding to customer complaints and inquiries
- Strong communication skills including verbal, written and active listening skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
