    Position Description:

    Masco Canada is seeking a Vice President, Human Resources (VP, HR) who is responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources including the deployment of Masco's Talent Leadership Framework to ensure the organization possesses the people, skills and capabilities to execute the organization's mission and strategy. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP, HR will partner with functional leads to provide consultative support and counsel, and align business needs and Human Resources strategies to achieve yearly and long-term financial and strategic objectives.

    The VP, HR has overall responsibility for the Human Resources function including employee and labor relations across all locations and functions, leadership and employee development, leadership succession and organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, safety and health, change management, Human Resources communications, compensation and benefits.

    The VP, HR reports to the President of Masco Canada and leads a team co-located in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participate in the development of Masco Canada's strategies, plans and programs with the executive leadership team, with particular focus on the impact on talent. Lead a team of Human Resources professionals to translate strategic and tactical business plans and issues into Human Resources strategies and programs.
    • Responsible for providing Human Resources leadership in the deployment of Masco's Talent leadership framework including, talent management, talent acquisition, employee relations, employee training and leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, change management and process improvement.
    • Sets strategic direction and guides staff in the design, development and execution of organizational design and development programs. Partner with business unit leaders to develop strategic workforce plans and to contribute to business strategy development/key business decisions.
    • Leverage Masco Shared Services to address and satisfy the strategic needs of the business and ensure that the business receives the necessary services, support, and communications from those centralized Human Resources groups.
    • Oversee the performance management and compensation processes for Masco Canada, so that employees receive the feedback, motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
    • Consult with senior business leaders to ensure strategic alignment between business unit objectives and talent initiatives.
    • Responsible for identifying gaps between current organizational capabilities and design, required competencies and skills, and the future strategic objectives of the organization.
    • Introduce, lead and influence change management initiatives with functional/operational leaders in order to address issues that will enhance overall performance and build the overall talent capability of the organization.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • 10 plus years of demonstrated success in managing a Human Resources function, within and for a multi-site, complex consumer/manufacturing organization with advanced talent management practices.
    • Strong business acumen and talent leadership skills.
    • Superior collaboration and communication skills with executive presence.
    • Strong planning, organizational and change management skills; also conflict management abilities.
    • Labor and employee relations experience, includes leading formal contract negotiations and grievance arbitration.
    • Demonstrated success developing and implementing Human Resource systems and programs.
    • Up to 20% travel required.

    Education

    • Undergraduate degree required in Human Resources, business or related field; graduate degree preferred. PHR or CPHR also preferred.
