Oak Hill Ranch is an accredited campus-based treatment facility with a designation in Intensive Treatment. With the support of Children and Family services, family and other healthy support networks, we strive to create a therapeutic environment that assists in the young person's growth and development. We offer services to youth between the ages of 9-16 years of age who present various behavioral and emotional challenges. Oak Hill Ranch is located 1⁄2 mile south of the town of Bon Accord (20 min. N of Edmonton).

Schedule:

Awake Night Child and Youth Care Workers work on a rotational schedule of 4 nights on (9:00pm-7:00am) and 4 days off.

Salary:
$54, 000-$57, 000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
*NOTE

This is not a comprehensive list of the job description, but an overall understanding of the position of Overnight Awake Child and Youth Care Worker.
Ensure safety of the overall ranch during overnight hours, conducting a physical search of the property.
Observes, assesses and documents significant behaviors emitted by young people in activity logs and reports.
In the event of a young person leaving without permission, appropriate notifications are made.
Teaches and assists young people in acquiring skills relating to daily life skills. Wake and put young people to bed in a manner appropriate to the special needs of clients, and assisting them in handling related difficulties and anxieties.
Dispenses medication according to prescribed procedures and document as such on medication chart.
Advocates and actively builds trust and rapport with young people through conversation, and personal interactions.
Intervenes in crisis situations with nonabusive restraint practices as necessary.
Maintains a therapeutic approach to behavior management and explains behavioral expectations and consequences to young person.

Qualifications and Professional Experience:

Diploma/Degree in Human Services, preference given to Child and Youth Care and Social Work disciplines.
Minimum one year experience working with highrisk youth in outofhome placements.
Valid driver's license.
Standard 1st Aid (level C), ASIST Suicide Certificate(s) are an asset; however, courses are offered after commencement.
Fully vaccinated against COVID19
