BFL CANADA is looking for a DC Retirement Assistant Consultant for its Montreal Office


As a member of our Montreal office, you will be responsible for leveraging the experience you have gained by taking responsibility for clients and continuing to grow by working with our senior consultants on more complex mandates.

You will also play an active role in the growth of our practice by supporting our business development efforts. Take the next step in your career as part of a dynamic, client-focused team


Your day as a DC Retirement Assistant Consultant
Advisory Services (85%)

  • Teaming with our Senior Consultants, support our clients in all aspects of DC consulting: plan design, investments, vendor research and implementation, participant engagement, monitoring and governance, ongoing plan optimization.
  • Plan, coordinate and quality assure regular DC planmonitoring reports; develop key observations and recommendations to optimize plan performance.
  • Oversee research and analysis of investment options, prepare performance summaries and benchmarking; recommend investment option changes accordingly.
  • Act as first point of contact with clients and vendors for questions and service.
  • Actively participate in client meetings.
  • Lead various projects to develop our ideas, intellectual capital and tools.
  • Keep abreast of pension regulations, CRA (tax) rules, DC industry developments and plan management best practices.
Business Development (15%)

  • Analyze the situation of potential clients and prepare diagnostic reports and preliminary recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and presentation of service offers.
  • Participate in the visibility of the firm through articles and presence at events in our sector.
  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Finance or Business.
  • Minimum of 68 years of DC consulting and/or DC provider client service experience.
  • Excellent understanding of DC plan design, provider services, institutional investments, retirement and relevant tax legislation, as well as DC industry best practices and regulatory compliance across Canada.
  • Commitment to obtaining a Quebec life insurance license within the first year of employment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Firstrate analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a positive, resultsoriented, hardworking and highperforming team.
