- Drive Compliance: Ensurefull compliance of Occupational Health and Safety standards, applicable legislation, and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) requirements.
- Supervise Operations: Overseemulti-phase contracts, including layout, cruising, ecology, archaeology, and stream classification.
- Manage Contractors: Provideclear direction and oversight for contractors, with a focus on safety performance, environmental standards, quality of work, and accountability.
- Ensure Data Integrity: Ensurethe accuracy and integrity of all planning and permitting data.
- Permitting & Authorizations: Manageall aspects of cutting permit and road permit development, submission, and approvals.
- Appraisal & Stumpage: Conductappraisal analyses and implement best management practices for stumpage.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Workclosely with other departments, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure successful planning and operational outcomes.
- Education: A University Degree or Technical Diploma in Forestry or a related field, and be an RPF, RFT, or eligible for registration with the Forest Professionals of British Columbia.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in forestry, including Planning, Permitting, Appraisal, and contractor supervision.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with BC forestry legislation, policies, and technologies.
- Passion: A strong work ethic and love for the outdoors.
