Peoples Group offers a flexible work environment with a combination of in-office and remote from-home work options for our employees.
Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.
About you:
As an experienced Data Scientist, you establish best-in-class data infrastructures, predictive modeling and data analytics for new lines of business.
About you / qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience handling large datasets, designing data architectures, and building statistical models
- An appetite to stay up to date on best data and modeling practices
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or similar quantitative field
- Expertise in performing data extraction and manipulation, and proficiency in programming languages (R, Python, MatLab, etc.)
- Highly motivated, selfstarter who can operate with a high degree of autonomy
About the day-to-day:
- Develop and maintain clean, transformed data models, with a focus on predictive risk models, ready for analytic and data science use cases
- Understand business needs in order to build models that can be easily consumed
- Ensure proper documentation of data tables and models and provide training as needed
- Help set up data warehouse design and integration with Credit Risk team processes
- Set up detective controls to ensure high data quality
- Study current data sources to develop accurate reporting
- Help build internal tools to facilitate monitoring and data queries
