Description

Miriam has the mandate to provide rehabilitation and social integration services to persons with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders across the lifespan.

Our goal is to treat and support children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders, and help them reach their full potential as individuals.

The children as well as the youth and young adult departments do this by providing readaptation services. Our specialized educator can provide readaptation services on a one-to-one basis or in a group format (social skills group).

Job description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assess the client's specific needs;
Recommend goals and objectives in relation to the client's needs;
Designing interventions and making the necessary adaptations in order to manage and supervise behaviours according to the client's abilities;
Provide support and training to partners in the implementation of interventions;
Review and modify clinical interventions as needed;
Coordinate interventions in partnership with other services;
Write and transmit to the person concerned observation reports, evaluation reports, behavioural summaries and any other required documentation.

ACADEMIC TRAINING

Hold a college diploma (DEC) with a specialization in special education techniques from a school recognized by the competent ministry or hold a comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Quebec issued by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion.
