Major Duties:


  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams on process and quality improvements.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the field and identify how to leverage them to improve cost, quality or assurance of supply.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Direct engagement with suppliers to accomplish improvements in supplier quality and shipping performance.
  • Support and participate in ABM initiatives.
  • Audit the supplier to applicable codes and standards (ISO 9001, CSA N299, CSA N285, NQA1).

Specific Responsibilities:


  • Strictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures.
  • Existing Supplier Development to improve KPI's (e.g. OTD, Conformance to Specifications, Receiving issues)
  • Perform rough cut capacity planning and resolve gaps at ATS Approved Suppliers
  • Benchmarking new potential suppliers (preaudit)
  • Supplier scorecard delivery and follow up
  • Ongoing Supplier engagement ensuring both ATS and Suppliers are informed and in compliance with change management.
  • Supplier Excellence Program: Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Act as consultant to communicate and coach the Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and procurement organizations to drive cost effective improvements (VA/VE) to Quality and Manufacturing processes, minimizing waste, introduce new products and improve product design.
  • Identify "value add" opportunities within existing Supply base
  • Support Product Sourcing Strategy and provide technical leadership in new supplier selection.
  • Support new business ramp with Suppliers (drawing reviews, Inspection plans, etc.)
  • Assist the Quality Department with SCAR resolution, more complex NCR's, external Supplier training, and Audits as assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Review and approve FAI's, deviations, process change notifications and corrective actions.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Travel will be required to local and international destinations.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • A postsecondary technology diploma or equivalent, specializing in toolmaking, machining, welding or mechanical engineering, mechanical technologist, quality engineering or equivalent work experience is required
  • ASQ CQE or ASQ SSBB or equivalent work experience is required
  • Nuclear Auditor training and qualification

Experience:


  • Six Sigma Experience is an asset.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a crossfunctional team.
  • Understanding of change management principles and Change Agent Skills.
  • JD Edwards or similar ERP systems data mining and report generation
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Intermediate level.
  • At least 5 years in nuclear environment or other highly regulatory industry
  • At least 5 years of quality assurance engineering experience in a manufacturing and/or fabrication environment.
  • Experience with the Nuclear requirements relating to Quality and Inspection plans
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects from various diverse organizations
  • Strong working knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001, N299, NQA1,10CFR50, 10CFR21, N285, N286, B51 and ASME Section III guidelines.
  • Commercial Grade Dedication background and experience
  • Capable of being certified to Jaeger1 Test Chart and Bausch and Lomb Vision test (including color and far
