Position Overview
We are searching for an assistant controller to join the Finance team to help support the company's continued growth, provide accounting backup and work together with and provide support to other departments.
Key responsibilities

Payroll Management
- Reviews the biweekly payroll function, ensuring that employee compensation is processed accurately and on time. Also, ensuring that all regulatory compliance is met in various jurisdictions.

Expense Review
- Reviews the employee monthly expense reports for inclusion in payroll processing.

Accounts Payable
- Oversee the accounts payable function, including administration, timely vendor biweekly payment runs, accruals, and GL entries.

Commissions
- Prepare commissions calculations and reports for the sales team monthly.

Month-End Close
- Assist in completion of the month end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and team working paper reviews.

Financial Reporting
- Assist the Controller in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Supervision
- Review and assist the work completed by staff accountants, providing supervision and training as necessary.

Audit
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with coordinating all audit activities for the preparation and completion of the annual financial statement audit.

Financial Reporting
- Assist the Controller in managing the financial reporting and accounting operations including the review of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.

Support
- Backfill for Controller where appropriate.

Projects
- Other ad hoc projects or responsibilities as required as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Accounting certificate or diploma and/or enrolled in CPA accreditation program preferred.
- Selfmotivated and able to work effectively autonomously as well as part of a team
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong technical, interpersonal an organization skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of financial information.

Salary:
$63,604.30-$92,701.12 per year

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
- Accounting: 4 years (preferred)
