The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Municipal Law Enforcement, this role is responsible for providing Animal Control response and education to the public for animal control calls received as well as enforcing municipal by-laws including but not limited to, Clean Yards, Signs Noise and Nuisance as well as Traffic and Business Licensing.

As the Officer, Animal Control, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

Enforce municipal bylaws and provincial legislation applicable to domestic animals within the Town (exotic and large animals, dogs, cats, etc.)
Enforce and provide support to Municipal Law Enforcement Officers with respect to the Clean Yards, Signs, Noise and Nuisance and Traffic.
Responsible for the Enforcement of the Business Licensing Bylaw specific to the Kennel Licensing provisions as well as conducting inspections of Kennels.
Prepare investigation reports and ensure electronic data is fully entered into AMANDA.
Attend, investigate and document all dog bites under the Animal Control By-Law and report to the Health Department and OPP as required. Investigate and obtain all relevant evidence in order to support the issuance of Dangerous Dog Orders.

This position offers a salary range of $75, $93,006.93 plus a competitive benefit package.
