Service and Maintenance Technician

Reporting To:
Service and Maintenance Foreman

Primary Job Goal:

Under the direction of the Service and Maintenance Coordinator, the Service and Maintenance Technician will assist the Foreman in service and maintenance calls and in small installation projects.

Ongoing communication will be done with both the Foreman and the Service and Maintenance Coordinator.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilize clear lines of communication and treat others with dignity and respect
Ensure company vehicle is in safe operating condition and is equipped with the required tools and equipment for each job
Handle, transport, and store roofing chemicals in a safe manner to eliminate health and safety risks in workers
Work with the Foreman to ensure all tools are in proper working condition and that they are transported and stored in a safe manner
Responsible for the safe use of all power tools
Conduct building inspections in partnership with Foreman and clients
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate
Demonstrated ability to teach skills and work effectively with others
Good observation skills and problemsolving abilities
Working knowledge of a variety of roofing systems (EPDM, TPO, SBS, PVC, Tar & Gravel)
Ability to match roofing systems with the appropriate tools and products needed to repair roofs for a solid fix
Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own
Proven ability to make sound, independent decisions based on knowledge and imagination
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary leadership and customer service
Exhibit positive and effective interactions with clients
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy roofing materials
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and climb ladders, scaffolding and stairwells to work at heights greater than 10 feet
