PPIH) is a global engineered pipe services company offering core competencies in anti-corrosion coatings, insulation solutions, containment systems, leak detection systems, engineering support, field service, and custom fabrication. We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager for our Eastern Canada facility.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the General Manager - Canada, the Operations Manager shall be responsible for policies and procedures that direct the facilities operations productivity, quality, and efficiency.
The Operations Manager will use metrics to analyze productivity, set performance targets to achieve desired goals and utilize best practices.
They will be responsible for people management, core operations, budgets, and project delivery with a focus on margins, costs, and continuous growth.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct manufacturing operations with and through a team of area leads and/or supervisors.
- Monitor, measure, and report KPIs for each area.
- Incorporate principles, evaluate, implement, and continuously improve production processes and procedures;
- Work with the Production team in analyzing operations to improve safety, quality, and production efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with Company standards for safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and ontime delivery.
- Interface with other Company divisions, suppliers, areas, and/or customers as necessary to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and to achieve desired results.
- Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning as appropriate. Identify, communicate and drive implementation of strategic action plans to meet Company performance objectives.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improvements and productive working relationships among various areas
- Coach and mentor employees to improve performance and aid in professional growth.
- Develop and manage plant operation and maintenance budgets
- Create a work environment that promotes and encourages teamwork, in order to attain Company, department and individual objectives
- Monitor and assess employee performance
- Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
- Work with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business or operations management or equivalent experience.
- Five to ten years of supervisory experience in manufacturing are required.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience managing small teams and working crossfunctionally.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks.
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
- Strong customer service orientation
