Description

We are looking for a Business Analyst reporting to the Data and Analytics Team Manager (within the Marketing Team) to help us analyze business demands, and document needs and translate them into requirements, while supporting teams through developments.

You will use your database expertise to perform data profiling, confirm and investigate anomalies, and collaborate closely with the Data Governance Team to ensure ongoing data quality.

You must have good understanding of business/marketing aspects coupled with good technical expertise. You will interact regularly with data architects, data scientists and data engineers.

In this role, you will make a major impact in supporting the Marketing Team's data and analytics projects.

You will be at the forefront of collaborations with the Marketing and Data Engineering teams, and directly with your own team.


YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Identify and document business needs and requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.

Translate the business requirements involved in various projects and initiatives into technical requirements alongside the Data Engineering Team,
e.g. Dashboards, integration of new data sources, "Customer Data Platform" project, "Customer Lifetime Value" project, etc.

Collaborate on data architecture and designing solutions.

Keep the team's documentation up to date (in French and English).

Define various working scopes (e.g. story, tasks, project, MVP, etc.) and help prioritize activities (i.e. sprint planning).

Contribute to planning and roadmap tasks.


Perform profiling and data investigation tasks (relating to potential sources, data quality evaluation, anomalies, etc.), define test scripts and conduct QA/UAT tests.

Perform data extractions with a view to producing targeting lists in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Help resolve incidents and issues.

Offer solutions and action plans, and collaborate with the Data Governance Team to set up processes for data quality control.

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.

A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. administration, business analytics or business intelligence).

A good understanding of the data life cycle within a company.

An excellent sense of rigour (with regard to documentation).

An ability to summarize and work as a team.

Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum or Kanban).

Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of database and ETL process environments (e.g. Azure, SQL and Snowflake).

An ability to present work (in French and English), and lead project meetings and work sessions.

An understanding of analytics platforms (e.g. Knime, DataIku and Alteryx) would be an asset.

An understanding of JIRA and Confluence software.

Intermediate proficiency in SQL.

Proficiency in other programming languages (e.g. R or Python) would be an asset.

Proficiency in at least one data visualization software (e.g. PowerBI).

Understanding of the field of data science would be an asset.

Excellent communication skills (in French and English).
