Ballard has an immediate opportunity for a dynamic Manager, People Experience and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) who is enthusiastic about supporting our growing organization and contributing to our mission to deliver fuel cell power for a sustainable planet.


This position has the critical mandate to develop and refine programs, policies and tools that improve how we engage our people, drive organizational effectiveness, foster an inclusive culture and deliver our employee value proposition.

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the Manager, People Experience and DEI will play a pivotal role in listening to the organization's needs, evaluating, and improving existing people experience programs, creating new value-added programs and executing Ballard's DEI strategy.

Key people experience programs at Ballard include our performance program, succession planning, employee engagement, well-being, and diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

While we have a strong foundation in each of these programs, we always seek continuous improvement in all we do.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver our employee value proposition through developing and maintaining Ballard's people programs. This includes performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and the global P&C team of specialists (COEs) and Business Partners to continue developing an exceptional people experience at Ballard (think valueadded, automation, digitization, quick, simple, and positive experiences).
  • Develop organizational metrics and key performance indicators to monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of programs, provide appropriate updates on progress, recommend actions to support the achievement of goals, and assess the overall effectiveness of the programs you manage.
  • In partnership with our external DEI specialist, deliver DEI programs across the global enterprise, build the DEI roadmap and collaborate to ensure policy adoption. Ensure that DEI considerations are at the core of all our people programs and embedded into our work.
  • Support companysponsored Employee Resource Groups to ensure alignment with business objectives and DE&I mindset.
  • Build and deliver essential training programs to support adopting our people programs and practices.
  • Partner with the Global Learning & Development team on inclusive learning strategy to ensure that DE&I strategies are integrated into all the company's leadership and learning programs.
  • Follow trends and best practices, listen to the voice of our global employees and ensure that all people programs cater to great employee experiences, focus on valueadded activities and foster strong people engagement and retention.
  • Be a role model for solid project, stakeholder, and change management.
  • Manage and inform program communications together with business partners and senior leaders.
  • Undertakes all other duties and projects as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years' progressive experience as an HR business partner and/or implementing people and/or diversity and inclusion programs in complex, highgrowth, fastpaced organizations.
  • Relevant educational qualifications, including a bachelor's or master's degree preferably in HR, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing strategies and executing initiatives that drive measurable results within the context of the organization's talent
  • Proven leadership in managing across functional relationships; can blend into the company's corporate culture while at the same time acting as an agent of change for process and system improvement
  • Global solid mindset, understanding of various global cultures, and knowledge of global diversity
  • Advanced relationshipmanagement experience and consultative skills, with a superior ability to influence, lead, engage and build consensus across various levels of leaders through collaboration and influence
  • Experience with organizational change management practice
  • Proven project management experience: the ability to successfully coordinate projects on time and budget, taking full responsibility for delivery
  • Strong ability to facilitate, engage, and connect with a global team.
  • An inspirational style that will challenge/inspire colleagues/partners to achieve business results; a clear understanding of business operations and people program priorities, and able to articulate them to audiences within and outside the organization
  • Can see the bigger picture with the ability to link programs from all areas within and outside P&C to create a cohesive and exceptional employee experience
  • Evidence of developing and implementing industryleading best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire, motivate and mobilize team and colleagues
  • Ability to travel, as required by the business
