Position Overview:


As one of Gordon Food Service's knowledgeable partners in food service equipment and smallwares solutions, United Trimen is looking for a driven, entrepreneurial and analytical Operations Manager to support the maintenance and growth of both our Multi-Unit Chain Restaurant business and our Independent Street Business Customers.

Based in
North York, Ontario , this position will report to the Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations overall, to meet operational and customer requirements and to ensure the optimal utilization of company resources.

This position is also responsible for inventory levels, raw material supply to ensure operational requirements are aligned with sales forecasts and customer orders.

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a background in warehouse/distribution industry preferably food service.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all daily Operations activities at a highvolume
  • Strong attention to operations scheduling and material demands processing
  • Identifies and manages priorities to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded. Participates in and may delegate or manage responsibilities of special projects or task forces.
  • Collaborate with management to set aggressive production targets. Ensure the achievement of these targets by developing and executing a comprehensive operational plan, aligning team efforts to support company goals and directing the smooth operation of daytoday activities.
  • Ensure the strategic alignment of module manufacturing operations to overall company goals.
  • Experienced in managing external suppliers and vendors
  • Effectively and efficiently manage resources to optimize operational results
  • Manages warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Develop, implement and monitor best practices with regard to safety standards and environmentally sound production for all areas of operation.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external customers to ensure that product quality standards, production goals and customer delivery dates are met.
  • Monitor operations process, workflow, and schedules to ensure ontime delivery
  • Follow up on schedules to ensure targets are being met; make contingency plans for plant and employee workload as necessary and contact the customer as appropriate
  • Responsible for the integration/alignment of sales forecasts, raw material in process, and finished goods inventories, equipment capacities and staffing to meet production targets requirements.
  • Resolve production, installation and material problems quickly in an order of priority
  • Take on all delegated tasks to completion in a timely manner
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, control, review and evaluate all activities associated with their assigned projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
