30% of our frontline employees are promoted to become part of our operation teams. This is a Full Time Security Guard position with schedule being Friday to Monday hours. The hourly pay rate is $ Post completion of CPO /CSO course and exam the rate increases to $21. 89.

What does a Security Guard in Sarnia do?:

  • Receive reports, keys, access cards and mobile phones, if applicable, from the Contractor s Personnel leaving the previous shift;
  • Check reports, logs and follow up on outstanding activities;
  • Coordinate security response to first aid incidents, check headcount, make emergency callouts, monitor traffic, issue Chemical Valley Emergency Coordinating Organization (CVECO) codes and submit check sheets to municipal authorities;
  • Complete monthly emergency systems, and equipment inspections;
  • Control vehicles access to the Sarnia Refinery and perform vehicle inspections.
  • Investigate incidents and report to Security Supervisor and Suncor immediately;
  • Ensure flags are in good condition and arrange for replacement or repairs as necessary;
  • Arrange snow removal and ensure walkways/entrances are properly salted and perimeter gates are cleared at all times;
  • Assist Suncor human resources Personnel to escort terminated Personnel when requested;
  • Additional activities as required by Site Security Coordinator or Suncor Representative.

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Sarnia:

  • First Aid/CPR + AED and Security Guard License
  • Effective Communication/Customer Service Skills
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • CPO certified or ability to attain within 6 months
  • Minimum G2class driver s licence with clean abstract
  • Knowledge of gTrack/TrackTik technology an asset
  • Valid IEC certification and site specific safety training
