We are currently seeking a self-motivated General Labourer to fill a position that will be based out of Sudbury, Ontario.

This position is a full-time role.

The Global Drilling Services division operates for a diverse mining customer base with drilling methods including diamond coring exploration, reverse circulation, large diameter rotary, mine dewatering, water supply drilling, pump services, production, and sonic drilling services.


The Geological Data Services division utilizes innovative scanning technology and down-hole instrumentation tools to capture detailed geological data from drilled core and chip samples.

This valuable orebody knowledge gives mining companies the ability to make timely decisions for more efficient exploration activities.


The Global Products division offers sophisticated research and development and holds hundreds of patented designs to manufacture, market, and service reliable drill rigs, innovative drill string products, rugged performance tooling, durable drilling consumables, and quality parts for customers worldwide.


Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
Each day will bring new challenges from test site and equipment maintenance to hands-on test operations and monitoring. Our Engineering team deliver results to our customers and add value to our business. Come see what you can do with a job experience that can help you reach your career goals.

Comply with Boart Longyear's Golden Rules and Rules of the Road.

Complete and maintain required training up to date, e.g. NORCAT, WHIMIS, and specific equipment training.

Perform daily pre-op and post-op checks on drill and test equipment and support equipment to identify maintenance requirements.

Provides support for engineering staff and test site administration, deliveries, packing and unpacking materials, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Completes other tasks as required to support the team.

Respectfully communicate with co-workers, client, and management.

Use of small hand tools and power tools.

Perform housekeeping activities, maintaining work areas clean and organized including toolboxes, storage areas, etc.

Test data entry & reporting.


Job Requirements:

Computer skills (reporting & data entry - numeric and alpha).

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to work in accordance with all safety policies and procedures.

Good written and oral communication skills.

This position requires ongoing physical demands including heavy lifting, bending, walking, standing.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn in accordance with tasks being performed and test site requirements.

Identify and report all hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately to supervisor and co-workers. All workers have the right to refuse unsafe work (STOP WORK AUTHORITY).


Position Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's license. Valid First Aid Certificate.

Labor based experience with demonstrated competencies in assisting with drills or similar equipment. Hydraulic and electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting experience is an asset.

Physically capable of meeting the labour demands of the position.

Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks.

Previous related experience to drilling services is an asset.

Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred.

Great team player with the ability to take direction constructively.


Education and Experience:
Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-2 years related experience.


Reporting Relationship
The position reports directly to the Site Manager, who is located in Sudbury, Ontario.
