    The Opportunity:


    We are currently assisting our client in the search for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in the GTA.

    This position is a permanent opportunity with a client that is a manufacturer of plastic products for the consumer and food industries.

    This candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of 10 employees to ensure a high level of quality is brought to their work along with on-time servicing of the departments.

    This person would be handling direct supervision of a group of Craftsmen, labors, and a Maintenance Planner.

    They will be involved in the repairing and maintaining all equipment in the manufacturing facility including building facility, HVAC, Chillers and Air compressors.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Input to the long-term work plans and budget for the facility.
    Key management representative responsible for providing safe, timely and efficient repairs.
    Application of engineering standards and government codes in trades.
    Daily monitoring and purchase of maintenance materials, supplies, tools, equipment including spare part inventory in an efficient manor.

    Technical troubleshooting and problem solving of equipment failures; recommendation/initiation of corrective measures when appropriate/requiredDay-to-Day application of plant safety practice and maintenance safety and compliance program.

    Preparation of training, scheduling, and monitoring of on-the-job training and instruction to craftsmen and labors.
    Recommendation to management for improvements and/or corrective action.
    Maintenance of a working climate conductive to harmonious labor relation.
    Coordination of temporary outside contractors for maintenance.

    When necessary, assist Engineering on Capital projects with either installation and/or commissioningManage the preventive maintenance program helping move the organization from a reactive maintenance to preventive/predictive maintenance organization.

    What You'll Need to Be Successful

    Five years' experience in a management roleMechanical / Industrial Engineer (preferred) or Mechanical Millwright License / Licensed ElectricianMinimum of five years management experience in a trade / engineering-oriented functionGreat communication skillsStrong project management skills in planning, scheduling, assigning, budgeting and managingKnowledge of working with Maintenance ContractorsWorking knowledge of MS Office suite of software
