The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a senior manager to join their team as the AVP of Operations . The main function of this role is to ensure that the regional branches are operating efficiently and generating as much business as possible. The AVP of Operations needs to be a big picture thinker capable of creating and executing plans that meet company targets. This is an opportunity to implement your vision for the Personal Lines and small business operations throughout Alberta. 


  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in order to help the team stay ahead of the curve
  • Constructing the ultimate insurance super teams and helping lead them to glorious victory
  • Ensure that the team is as informed as possible by educating and supporting professional development
  • Contribute to company wide decisions and influence the direction of the company including helping make hiring decisions at the management level.
  • Take responsibility for the region’s successes and failures
  • Ensure that the team is following company procedures and guidelines
  • Identify and monitor key performance metrics and work to improve them
  • About You

    You must be equal parts operations expert and sales/marketing guru. You are passionate about leading and take great pride in your ability to add value wherever you can. You are a leader by example and feel confident when directing your staff because you have been in the trenches and understand what they are facing. You have an established network of contacts in Alberta, are always in the know when it comes to industry news, and most importantly, you are energized and excited about this opportunity.


  • 10+ years of experience in insurance with a significant leadership pedigree
  • University degree/College diploma and CIP designation or active participation in CIP courses.
  • Level 2 Insurance Experience
  • Exceptional ability to analyze data and information in order to respond in the most effective way possible.
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms
  • Ability to influence, convince, direct and persuade others is an important skill requirement
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to see growth in all endeavours
  • Strong technology literacy and ability to adapt to new tools
  • Experience with identifying problems and implementing solutions
