This role will provide support to the Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and for work conducted on behalf of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team. The role will integrate information from multiple sources that supports the coordination of events, planning, and strategic thinking for these teams as it relates to Indigenous customers and teammates. The work undertaken will provide support in the area related to staff recruitment and retention by working with all teammates in building knowledge, understanding and cultural confidence as it applies to Indigenous teammates, customers, suppliers and partners.
This position requires an individual who is detail orientated and a creative thinker with strong facilitation and planning skills. It requires a strong understanding from either lived experience or work experience that has the support and recommendation from Indigenous People, that speaks to an understanding of the diverse experience of Indigenous People in this country. This includes the history, their contributions, the systemic and racist challenges from the past to present day, understanding of Treaties and how that knowledge can guide our work and appreciation for the cultural and worldview of many Indigenous People.
