As a member of our Client Services team, what will you do?

  • Support Sun Life clients with their saving needs by speaking with clients over the phone / video and providing recommendations that meet their needs. 

  • Proactively call existing Sun Life Group Retirement Savings plan members who are leaving or have left their employer retirement / savings plan to discuss the benefits of keeping their assets with Sun Life.

  • Provide consultation to clients by providing investment and protection guidance related to their financial needs, including savings, retirement income and insurance. 

  • Create a risk assessment profile for wealth clients to align their investments to their desired risk tolerance.

  • Keep abreast of product changes, understand new products that that come to market, keep a pulse on industry changes and competitor products.

  • Contribute to sales targets by meeting or exceeding objectives. 

  • What do you need to succeed:

  • Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP) or Insurance of person license in Quebec (1a) is required

  • If working in Quebec, being fully bilingual (French and English) is required. For all other provinces, English language only is required.

  • Minimum of 2 -3 years of related sales experience in the financial services industry is preferred

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of sales / service experience is required

  • Completion or a college or university degree or equivalent related experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to quickly build rapport and relationships with clients over the phone / video conferencing

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions to understand needs

  • Self motivated and have the ability to work independently

  • Experience selling savings products over the phone

  • Assets:

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)

  • Canadian Investment Fund Course (IFIC)

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial planner designation (IQPF)

  • Hours:

    Our Client Service Centre takes calls from clients between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

    Employees are scheduled for a consistent shift three out of four weeks. Most employees work 9-5 p.m. or 10-6 p.m. Typical shifts are as follows: 

    8-4 p.m.

    9-5 p.m.

    10-6 p.m.

    12 – 8 p.m.

    Your Manager will work with you to identify a primary shift that works best for your needs i.e. 10-6 p.m. You will work this shift for 3 weeks and on the 4th week you may be scheduled for a less popular shift time i.e. 12 – 8 p.m.

  • When a new position becomes available which matches your background and experience, the base pay range will be disclosed and correspond to the opportunity Sun Life will consider you for.
