Cabinet Maker

Our Scarborough client, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, a leading manufacturer of custom design fine furniture, is looking for a Cabinet Maker to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day production and providing exceptional strategic expertise and guidance
• Utilize a variety of skills and methodologies on multiple projects, for large and high-quality clients
• Understand detailed architectural drawings, schematics, shop drawings, and blueprints
• Operate woodworking machines including saws and milling, sanding machines, drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, planers, and wood-fastening machines (nailers, staplers, adhesives)
• Ensure that products meet industry standards and client''s project specifications, making adjustments as necessary

Requirements:

• 10+ experience in cabinetmaking, bench carpentry or furniture finishing
• Basic Math skills and computer skills/ability to visualize how pieces fit together to fabricate a three-dimensional object
• Physical stamina to endure long periods of standing, and repetitive movements
• Physical strength able to lift bulky pieces of wood, weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Supervisory experience a definite asset
• Technical skills to understand and interpret design drawings and technical manuals for a range of products and machines
• Must have a great attitude to work in a team environment and have an aptitude for learning new things
• Must be detail oriented, and comfortable working in a noisy/dusty environment

Compensation and Hours:

• Up to $30.00 per hour depending on experience
• Monday - Thursday; 7:25 am - 4:25 pm. Friday; 7:25 am - 1:25 pm
