This momentum continues and so does the importance that Scotts Canada will continue to play in people’s lives going forward. We are looking for a Brand Manager who will join our Brand Marketing team. This position will be based at The Scotts Canada Head Office in Mississauga Ontario The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing both short and long term strategic plans that meet top line sales, margin and profit objectives for the assigned portfolio of brands. A Brand Manager is accountable for advertising, new product development, research, forecasting, inventory levels, packaging, point of sale, collateral materials and other any other area that directly influences brand success. In this role you will: Develop operating plans and execute strategies needed to meet top-line sales, margin and contribution to profit objectives; Establish brand priorities, develops the strategic direction for the brand and gain alignment with key internal constituents; Work with internal and external creative, regulatory and technical resources to lead the development and execution new products, packaging, advertising, promotional materials point of sale and sales collateral materials that support key marketing initiatives; Liaise with the sales team, shopper marketing manager, digital marketing team and brand marketing team to assist in delivering both customer and consumer facing trade and social media programs Establish and maintain regular and frequent dialogue with US marketing colleagues to ensure brand and project collaboration is fully leveraged; Utilize your experience, strong analytical skills, knowledge and ability to gather, interpret and apply multiple consumer/industry insights and trends into simple and clear action plans and recommendations while leveraging insights from consumer behaviours and motivations: Build strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional business teams including the Management Leadership team, sales , R&D, regulatory, operations, finance, legal, and creative agencies & partners; Lead and inspire the teams to deliver results, be bold & agile, take risks, and make collective decisions that are right for the consumer, customer and company; Ensure all marketing activities are on strategy and consistent with spending principles/budgeting; Manage budgets and initiatives to deliver EBITA targets; Responsible for managing, coaching and developing a direct report. The ideal team member will have: Bachelor's Degree; Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in brand management; Experience in media planning, advertising creative and concept development; Strong financial acumen; Proven track record of developing, coaching and managing others; High risk tolerance that is educated/smart; Sets targets, aligns people to the work, and effectively follows up; Shows passion for the consumers, customers, and associates; Fundamental knowledge of the business and knows how to apply it to the area of expertise; Passionate about problem-solving; Seeks to understand and remain open to new ideas Exhibits intellectual curiosity.
