We have an immediate opening for a Piping Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. Your main tasks will include: Interpret process designs and deliver into code-compliant mechanical designs. This includes code requirements understanding, mechanical design integrity, and the ability to develop 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks. Contribute to maintenance and development of our CAD database (Solidworks PDM) Participate in creative design sessions with multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure the design meets requirements while considering both risks and opportunities. Interface with production to ensure accurate builds of all designs. Generate drawings and engineering documentation.
You will be a great fit if you have: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent. 1 - 5 years relevant work experience Strong working knowledge of Solidworks, including routing, large assemblies, weldments, and PDM systems. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with industrial plant design including P&ID’s, Mechanical systems. Familiarity with applicable piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPVC, CSA B51-14) Experience designing high pressure stainless steel piping systems would be considered a bonus. Creative thinker and problem solver. Experience with AutoCAD Plant3D P&ID is nice to have, but not required. Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (not essential, yet beneficial if you like this type of work) Ability to organize, prioritize, maintain high quality of work and quickly learn new skills Positive attitude, a can-do approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required
