Financial Reporting and System Analyst (BB-521B4)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing financial system support and problem solving, including ERP systems support (e.g., Oracle EBS, Propworks, Chrome River, Excel4Apps, E-collaboration tools)
  • Managing the project planning, execution, change management, training and project management for various financial system projects
  • Identifying business process inefficiencies and providing recommendations on improvements to management
  • Designing and troubleshooting financial reports in ERP systems, developing strategies to automate existing manual accounting processes, and build new reports or improve existing manual reports
  • Preparing quarterly reporting on ICFR and reviewing documentation to ensure relevant financial processes and systems are updated and in compliance
  • Providing recommendations for process changes to remediate the significant control gaps to ensure that the risk of significant misstatement due to error, fraud, segregation of duty is appropriately mitigated
  • Preparing month-end and quarter-end working papers and schedules (e.g. US sales tax remittance, operating commitment schedules, inventory cycle count template)
  • Training and mentoring business and finance staff in system best practices and continuous business process improvement
  • Key qualifications include:

  • At least six years’ post-degree experience with full-cycle accounting with a minimum of 2 years’ experience implementing and supporting enterprise-class applications in medium to large sized organizations and two years’ experience conducting group (8+ attendees) training, supplemented by a university degree in accounting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP, full-cycle accounting, audit processes, Oracle Financial modules, Excel4Apps, and Chrome River
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative workstyle and exceptional relationship building skills, both with internal stakeholders and external vendors, consultants and system user community groups
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work autonomously, and with ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to be detail oriented and multitask
  • Expert ability to apply knowledge of Oracle EBS modules relating to designated business areas, as well as maintain an understanding of the interdependencies between modules
  • A solid understanding of business functions and processes in order to enhance business processes and create efficiencies through enterprise application systems
