Opportunity: At Home Care Assistance Edmonton, our team strives to provide client & family centered care to all of our clients privately and to clients who are part of Alberta Health Services Invoicing Model, as well client’s that are part of Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). The licensed practical nurse will be assisting client’s in facilities. Our Internal clinical and client service manager will direct services delivered by our licensed practical nurse. All employee staff is required to have a vehicle, with valid insurance & registration, for work purposes as our staff is to travel throughout greater Edmonton and surrounded areas. Licensed practical nurse employees will be assisting our clients from all ages, from birth to end of life. The licensed practical nurse will be working with an office multidisciplinary team of dedicated and compassionate employees. The licensed practical nurse is to provide safe and effective nursing care according to Home Care Assistance Edmonton policies and nursing care standards, to ensure the delivery of consistency & quality care to all clients. The licensed practical nurse is to work within their full scope of practice and to assist with client care by assessing, observing, monitoring, reporting and documenting any changes in the client’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. The Licensed Practical Nurse is to assist our office team by providing teaching, support and assignment of care to other team members such as Health Care Aids and family members if required and when directed by office staff. 

Description: The Licensed Practical nurse is to assist clients of all ages from home to home and provide direct patient and family centered care. While providing safe, quality and centered care to our client’s they are to reflect our shared vision and values of Home Care Assistance Edmonton. The Licensed practical nurse is to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to competently provide direct care within their scope of practice. You will be responsible for implementation and evaluation of safe, quality care following policies & guidelines. You will be Working within a multidisciplinary team of compassionate & dedicated office team employees, you will utilize your critical thinking, while demonstrating a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, you will also have the ability to respond appropriately to a patient’s change in status and prioritize conflicting demands.

Qualifications: The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to problem solve situations in a complex environment, work effectively within a team or independent setting and provide excellent communication skills, compassionate, caring attitude, and attention to detail is required. The successful candidate will work independently in client’s homes and must be able to work in different home settings and environments.

Minimum of 2 years of Home Care experience preferred as an experience dealing with all entire age group.

  • Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). 
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BALLS-HCP)(CPR)
