Duties: Responsible for the analysis, adjustment and restructuring of different aspects of a business. Responsibility to ensure that a business’s structure is meeting top output efficiency. Work closely with individuals at all levels of employment to see what is and isn't working in the most efficient manner possible. Responsible for interacting with and addressing employees at all levels in a professional manner while providing constructive criticism that is conducive to the restructuring of current systems. Responsible for identifying and addressing current and future business needs within the realms of currently accessible resources. Responsible for advising on the allocation of resources in such a way that minimizes waste and maximizes efficient use and profitability. Their positions are ongoing requiring multiple follow ups on completed work and flexible availability for future consultation. Must have a functional understanding of software systems and at least fundamental understanding of software coding. They must be completely proficient in Microsoft Office and have interpersonal communication skills. Business system analysts must be prepared to address any concerns that arise during any restructuring of existing systems and adequately explain advantages and disadvantages to any stem changes made under their supervision. Determine solutions to business software/hardware system problems. Analyze business processes and write system process specifications to be used. Work with clients to determine their business needs to transform them into information technology system requirements.
Required Skills: A business data analyst (BDA) leads and partners on business initiatives that rely on data and analytics. The BDA is responsible for providing analytical partnership for aligned functional group, clearly communicating insights to senior leaders and collaborating cross data teams to drive broader data improvements. This includes independently identifying insights-based business opportunities, leading or partnering on initiative design, overseeing initiative execution, and tracking business outcome. They apply business acumen and analytical skills to provide direction at each phase of varied business initiatives they support. The BDA uses extensive business domain knowledge in combination with expertise in data and analytics to quantify and prioritize business opportunities, build business cases, propose customized actions and changes, plan and execute experiments, create dashboards and reporting, measure business results and explain the business impact of associated actions. They regularly demonstrate case specific independent judgment to utilize analytics tools and techniques based on business requirements. Analytics expertise includes (but is not limited to) performance variance testing, A/B and multivariate testing, customer trend analysis, market/category trend analysis, campaign ROI measurement, various statistical analysis techniques, data segmentation, modeling, and text analytics. The BDA also relies on proficiency in accessing data from various sources (such as relational databases, distributed data sources and third party data capture tools) and creating analyses using visualization tools (such as Excel and Tableau) to share customized insights with business and analytics partners. They can prototype data sets used in reporting and analyses. The BDA is familiar with the necessary data sources and automation resources to provide efficient ongoing dashboards and reporting. They also use knowledge of A/B testing to design, implement, and interpret test results using common frameworks. In addition, the BDA keeps a pulse on emerging technologies (such as data exploration, data modeling, visualization and testing) and statistical methods that would make their work more scalable or more efficient for Intuit. The BDA marshals resources and seeks commitment across multiple functions (such as business stakeholders, data and analytics experts and IT infrastructure partners) to achieve measurable business outcomes in marketing, product experience, offerings, operations and customer care. The BDA is also expected to coach fellow analysts and stakeholders on their craft to help build a great data community and data-driven leaders.
Education (if required) : Educational requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, math or economics or a related technical or quantitative field, or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
