The Buyer reports to the Procurement Coordinator and isresponsible for conducting transactional procurement

activities for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre(TBRHSC). The Buyer facilitates the Request for

Quotation process related to the acquisition of supplies, servicesand participates in the procurement processes

for the sourcing and acquisition of capital equipment.

The Buyer supports corporate programs and projects by preparingreports, collecting, analyzing and managing

information and data in support of procurement initiatives.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum secondary school diploma, preference to candidates withpost secondary qualifications in a business

program

* Experience in overall supply chain functions required,including buying using formal tendering processes

* Preference to candidates who have:

* completed courses through the Supply Chain ManagementAssociation (SCMA)

* completed courses through the Ontario Public BuyersAssociation (OPBA)

* Experience working with group purchasing organizations

* working knowledge and familiarity with medical supplies andor medical equipment

* Experience with purchasing finance / systems ie VirtuoMedisolutions, SAP

* Good communication, customer service, and organization skillsrequired, with the ability to learn quickly, prioritize

and multi task in a high paced, productivity demanding environment

* Intermediate to advanced level of computer knowledge and experiencerequired

* Attention to detail, and strong keyboarding skills required

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Must be physically capable of working in an office environment,on a computer, and at a desk, for the great

majority of the day
