This posting is for 1 temporary, full-time position until March 2023 

The Data & Systems Integration Analyst will support the corporation’s data management program and provide leadership in data related projects to ensure secure, accurate, timely information is presented. This role will be responsible for developing enterprise-scale integration and message-based solutions utilizing the latest technologies in a dynamic and complex environment. This position will focus on the integration of data and applications utilizing an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and API-based solution development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture group and define integration architecture to help implement best practices, and web services standards 
  • Define solutions using API or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, automating business process models and cloud-based services 
  • Define integration patterns for the purposes of creating reusable assets within the enterprise architecture
  • Develop and maintain technology standards, such as integration technologies, and web services standards 
  • Analyze business and technical problems and design a solution to incorporate Master Data, event driven and batch processing entities to the master service bus with proper data governance 
  • Design and deliver API and Messaging-based integration solutions with internal and external systems including O365, and other custom and cloud based solutions 
  • Use internal tools to streamline and automate manual tasks, and identify ways to improve existing systems, services and support Open Data and business intelligence initiatives 
  • Assist software integrators and vendors in development of APIs to interact with environment 
  • Contribute towards maturation of data management practice, providing input into data architecture, governance and processes 
  • Contribute towards continuous process improvement efforts by understanding technology trends and the business needs, providing training and producing high quality documentation per corporate standard 
  • Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives 
  • Identify common patterns and document best practices for integration 
  • Research and make recommendations on integration products and services in support of procurement and development efforts 
  • Participate in integration testing phase of software and applications under development in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas 
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in gateway and integration technologies (file, API, SOAP, and RESTFUL Web Services). 
  • Experience with activities related to the data management – master data management, data quality assurance, metadata, data security, and data governance (DMBOK) 
  • Knowledge of Web Service/ Microservices architectures 
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and in speaking, with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner 
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills in databases and systems integration; ability to analyze problems accurately and effectively in order to provide technical and non-technical solutions to business problems 
  • Works as part of a team – sometimes as the leader and other times as a member 
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communicative skills 
  • Effective writing skills to produce professional quality communication material 
  • Presents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience 
  • Establishes action plans for accomplishing own specific goals 
  • Identifies need then arranges and obtains resources needed to accomplish own goals 
  • Solid technical foundation encompassing logical and analytical thinking; demonstrated ability to investigate, design and implement system solutions in the field of information technology services 
  • Qualifications

  • University degree in computing science, with a minimum of five (5) years directly related IT experience OR a computing science diploma plus seven (7) years of directly related IT experience with progressive levels responsibility 
  • 2+ years building production scale APIs using platforms (MuleSoft, Azure API Management, Apigee, Dell Boomi, or .NET WebAPI) with API modelling (Open API, RAML, Swagger) is preferred 
  • 2+ years building integration solutions using an asynchronous message-based architecture via ESB platforms such as MuleSoft AnyPoint MQ, Azure Service Bus, Amazon SQS, or Rabbit MQ is preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience with Object-Oriented development in either Java or C# using the Eclipse IDE or Visual Studio is preferred 
  • Software development skills beyond design, including Object Oriented Design, Data Factory, and Abstraction/Dependency Injection patterns is an asset 
  • Experience in a business environment similar to Strathcona County, other large enterprise with multiple business lines, or in one or more levels of government is an asset
