This position is responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs. The PLC Programmer provides technical direction and expertise for the maintenance, upkeep, and troubleshooting of all electrical/instrumentation equipment. Job Duties:

PLC/HMI/SCADA programming in office and onsite

Testing, start-up and commissioning onsite

Provides telephone support as necessary

Provides remote access support to sites that have been commissioned

Ensures all documents are completed thoroughly and accurately

Computers, networking equipment setup and configuration

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Engineering Technologist or Technician, Computer/Electrical/Instrumentation Tech

Working safe in a fast pace environment

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Dealing with incomplete and ambiguous information

Programming experience with any of the following: GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, Wonderware

3 or more years of experience in a similar or related role required

Experience in water/wastewater treatment processes considered an asset

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required

Class 5 drivers licence and an acceptable driver abstract required

Team-player and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills required

Requires travel up to 30%

The successful candidate must be able to produce a negative result on a drug and alcohol screening test.
