About the Program

SEED which stands for Supportive Environment and Experiences for Development is an early childhood development program for Ismaili children from birth to age 3 and their parents/caregivers.
Families participate in weekly sessions and engage with other parents and caregivers of young children that are facilitated by trained facilitators.
SEED is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to exchange parenting knowledge and experiences to engage in interactive activities with children in a social environment, to access resources and information geared specifically to the development age of their children, to meet other parents and families, to build friendships and support network and share ideas on how to instill Shia Ismaili Muslim values in our children from the earliest years of life.

Facilitators needed for the following Centers:
SEED Centers:
  • Burnaby Lake Jamatkhana
  • Downtown Jamatkhana
  • Westwood Elementary (in place of Tri City Jamatkhana)
  • Term Commences Jan - June 30 , 2021

    About the Role

    Under current COVID -19 environment- Virtual Contacts
  • Connect with parents via phone calls and online (Monthly Zoom sessions) to support them in engaging in developmentally age appropriate activities with their children (Birth to Age 3)
  • Host one monthly Zoom session with parents cohort, one-on-one monthly phone calls with each respective family of your cohort
  • Attend training to learn the SEED curriculum
  • Become familiar with SEED curriculum
  • Engage in at least 4PD sessions through out the year
  • Exchange ideas and feedback with fellow SEED Facilitators and SEED Centre Manager to continuously improve program delivery at the Centre
  • About You

    Applicant :
  • Ability to communicate and facilitate effectively
  • Ability to manage a small group of parents and children between the ages of birth and Age 3
  • Committed , organized and responsible
  • Our objective is to bring together a diverse group of facilitators who can offer a variety of skillsets
    Experience in early childhood education, health, social work, communications, music and arts an asse
    Post Secondary students are eligible to apply
