Department Overview
TD Merchant Solutions (TDMS) is a division of TD Bank Group and has been providing merchants with a full range of payment processing services and solutions since the initiation of the Canadian credit and debit card market place in 1968.
As the only Canadian bank that issues debit and credit cards, provides business financing to merchants, and operates a merchant acquiring business, we see all sides of the payments business. TD's leadership in this area makes us uniquely qualified to help merchants.

Job Description
The responsibilities include:
Growing new merchant relationships through sales lead generation, prospecting, and contract negotiation all through to sales closing
Preparation of RFP responses and proposals to attract new business
Develop internal and external business networks to increase referrals
Develop and execute business plans aligned with merchant solution business goals
Supporting Merchant CEI improvement strategies and activities

Requirements
Proven track record of business development skills. Five years of experience required
Strong cold calling competencies, experience and high closing ratios
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to impact and influence individuals at all levels of the organization
Thorough knowledge of marketing, sales and business development strategies
In-depth knowledge and industry related experience in an acquiring business to deliver on comprehensive solutions from small to mid-size market
Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to deliver effective presentations to merchants, senior Executives and business partners
Develop and maintain close relationship with key referral partners
Analyze prospect list, recommend appropriate solutions and negotiate profitable pricing
Monitor progress to plan to ensure that objectives are met
Willing to travel as required and to work variable hours driven by needs of the business
