Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Planner ensures that multiple production schedules, for various products, are established, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Working with the Sales Coordinator and Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner ensures that materials and production equipment are available and planned in advance of the production phase. The incumbent will work as the ERP Administrator and ensure that the ERP system is continually maintained, operational and optimized while delivering of the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.
Production Planner•Liaise with the Sales Coordinator to analyze customer requirements, ensuring material and production capacity is forecasted and represented in the master schedule•Liaise with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure material inventory capacity is available per the master schedule•Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure production equipment is available per the master schedule•Utilize the ERP system in the creation of individual production schedules, identifying completion dates•Utilize the ERP system to identify all production tasks and when they should be completed to achieve master schedule milestones•Utilize the ERP system to ensure all materials are assigned for production•Monitor all production schedules to ensure progress is maintained•Relay relevant information to the Production Manager regarding material shortages, quality problems, potential schedule interruptions and possible equipment maintenance that would affect smooth and timely production•Monitor production labour and material costs•Monitor and manage finished goods inventory•Organize production paperwork, purchase orders and internal electronic files using various software•Compile, assess and produce reports based on findings and performance of production•Address issues regarding quality directly with the Quality Manager•Address issues regarding production directly with the Production Manager•Complete administrative functions of the Production department including (but not limited to) preparation of documents in coordination with administration, project checklists
ERP Administrator (Epicor Power User)•Administers User Account maintenance protocols (setup, maintenance, permissions, etc.).•Administers Group Level Menu Security protocols (setup, maintenance, permissions, etc.).•Executes user training of all applicable modules (end-to-end).•Creates, prepares and maintains internal user documentation.•Acts and performs duties as the EpicCare Power User contact person for 2nd Tier support (submit/manage tickets).•Pursue the development and implementation of new Epicor features through Epicor BPM (Business Process Manager).•Pursue the development and implementation of custom reports through Epicor BAQ (Business Activity Query).•Engage in ongoing development training direct with Epicor, i.e. new releases•Ensure the management and maintenance of all Databases (purging, updating, refreshing, etc.)
Education•Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent•PMP certification would be an asset
Experience•5+ years’ production or project administration experience in a contract manufacturing environment•5+ years’ ERP and MRP experience in a contract manufacturing environment•Proficiency with MS Office based software•Knowledge of Quality Control processes•Knowledge of manufacturing principles and operations•Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task•Superior written and verbal communication skills•Ability to deal professionally and courteously with internal and external clients•Knowledge of engineering terminology and document types and structures would be an asset•Knowledge of ISO 13485 and Class 1 Medical Device manufacturing would be an asset
