Position Description

A Technical Business Analyst needs to cover following roles;

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support to business and IT users by responding to interactions received via phone, ticket, and email.
  • This role is also responsible for fulfilling routine service requests and managing assigned incidents (including resolving the more routine incidents).
  • Understands existing workflow and current business processes and can apply this knowledge to resolve production issues.
  • Works directly with business stakeholders and technology partners to provide status updates and process information as needed. Manage business expectations of product features and functionality. Communicate to business's deliverables and related schedules work with business and development team to achieve the most effective solutions. Provide suggestions and recommendations on product/service development (SLA).
  • Conducts and coordinates root cause analysis for production issues and documents findings and applies learnings to help prevent future issues.
  • Works with architecture, delivery and product teams to enable the smooth transitions of new features and tools to the production support team with minimal disruptions to current business users and systems.
  • Contributes to the definition of project scope and objectives based on both user needs and excellent knowledge of applicable business processes, business systems, and industry requirements, as well as company vision.
  • Analyze business and user needs, document business requirements, product specifications, and process specifications. Create technical needs documentation, and design and demonstrate these requirements to the technical and business team as and when needed. Documents the business requirement document (BRD) and the technical design document (TDD) for different projects & initiatives along with business and technical stakeholders. Following the industry standards for documentation, abiding strict laws of Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and S.O.L.I.D Principals.
  • Acts as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders and performs functional analysis and documents different types of processes like operational, functional, technical, and user behavioral. These detailed analyses are needed by Technical stakeholders to take correct enterprise architecture and solution architecture level decisions. Contribute and define project requirement scope and objectives based on both user needs and excellent knowledge of applicable business processes, systems, and industry requirements, and recommend and present business or system solutions. Create and manage functional application requirements and their traceability. Review change requests and track the effect of requirement changes over the business, functional and technical process and communicate to all participants. Assess risks associated to change requests. Create, update and support all document needs at the requirements and process level.
  • Works closely with the business to device comprehensive test plans for different application, business process, and technical solutions. Writing thorough and complete test scripts, and documenting defects, reports, and follow-up. Analyze, control and support QA requirements. Design project Test Plans covering SIT, UAT, Pilot, and Post Deployment. Create test cases for all phases of testing. Implement and maintain test defect tracking and follow-up. Expert in documenting the Test Plans, writing thorough and complete test scripts, and documenting defects, reports, and follow-up. Responsible for defect capture and resolution to minimize re-work after deployment.
  • Competent in writing Users Guides, and Training documentation, and able to conduct user orientations, and training classes. Expert in the development of User Guides, Release Notes and Use Cases, which will not only fully document the work done, but provide the Client with complete Training materials. Work with the business in the UAT and Pilot releases, assisting the Users in a Training or SME role, and following up on feedback.
  • A touch point to ensure successful completion of every assigned project, and meet the stakeholder's objectives from the functional and process side.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • University Degree (preferably in computer science, Engineering or Information Technology)
  • 7 - 10 years of experience as a Business & Functional Analyst
  • Possesses leading edge technical knowledge
  • Experience with ERP implementations & SaaS product implementations.
  • High level of proficiency demonstrated in a business environment with the last 5 years in the following excellent knowledge of the different development platforms and technologies
  • Knowledge of Web API Development (Rest and Soap), Services, SOA and other integration platforms
  • Knowledge of Apache, and other server side frameworks
  • Knowledge of EBS, messaging protocols
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle DB and BI tools
  • Knowledge of Agile Development (Scrum and Kanban)
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) and presentation skill
  • Excellent understanding of business context and mode of operations
  • Proven ability to identify, formalize, and problem solve business needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Mature perspective on architecture principles and frameworks
  • Understands principles of iterative development, and able to document business requirements as Agile user stories.
  • Experience in contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium initiatives with escalating levels of complexity and business criticality.
  • Good to Have

  • MBA degree is an asset
  • Certification as Scrum master / Scrum product owner is an asset.
  • TOGAF / Zackman certification
  • Physical demand & Environment
