As Materiel Management Planner at L3 MAS you will:
Be the reference as a Materiel Management Specialist. You will be asked to participate in the definition and implementation of logistics strategies to ensure the maintenance of an optimal level of inventory for the CC150 program. You will need to familiarize yourself with program and customer requirements while maintaining an optimal level of inventory. You will be called upon to work closely with several functions within the company (program, engineering, procurement, methods, production and finance) in a multi-site context.

To achieve this, you will be called upon to:

  • Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material;
  • Develop and maintain performance indicators at the materiel management level; (stock rotation; dock to stock; min/max level; re-order level; etc.);
  • Participate in the development and implementation of material management strategies;
  • Plan, prepare and manage annual inventory counts;
  • Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and coordinates material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and the operations
  • Identify and manage obsolete inventory;
  • Actively participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve material management;
  • Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems;
  • Prepare and submit material management report to the client;
  • Provide support to the operations and store on a material management aspect;
  • Ensure data quality is preserved; (ex: unit price, data cleansing, monitoring old transactions);
  • Analyze the available data as well as the history of inventory levels in order to: Rigorously monitor inventory levels; Identify and set up, if necessary, an inventory level management system (example: min / max); Identify, analyze and report deviations, adjustments, causes of stock outs or expired expiration dates; Identify, analyze and communicate the optimal method of material rotation;
  • Ensure optimal material management between planning and procurement department;
  • Participate in the development, implementation and communication of a materiel management procedure;
  • Acts as project lead in some projects related to material management.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent;
  • Three (3) years of relevant material management experience (any other equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered);
  • Good knowledge of logistics chain concepts and processes and inventory management;
  • Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Advanced level knowledge for Excel;
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
  • Analytical, Adaptability, Teamwork, Initiative skills;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Available to travel (10% of the time).
  • Operational requirements :

  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program ;
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “ Reliability ” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
