Job Summary

Specific Duties

Under the direction of the Director, Resource Centres and in regular consultation and coordination with faculty and staff in the area, the Testing Coordinator:

•Is responsible for the general operation including reception in the Testing and Tutoring Services area as well as scheduling of a wide variety of tests, coordinating testing dates college-wide and with external test providers, and providing information about the services offered.
•Schedules appointments for students with tutors and instructors and maintains an attendance log
•Orients students to procedures, assists them in locating materials and starting their prescribed programs.
•Resolves questions and concerns related to admission testing (Student Readiness Assessment [SRA] etc.) and refers to appropriate instructors or departments when necessary.
•Files student records, photocopies and does general office work.
•Monitors the lending of all resources.
•Maintains an inventory required resources (textbooks, test banks, brochures,) and coordinates with the Library and the Regions on their needs. Updates and/or replenishes supplies as needed.
•Assists students and instructors in the use of testing equipment and programs
•Maintains the Testing and Tutoring website.
•Ensures all Testing and Tutoring equipment is in working order and orders repairs and technical assistance when needed.
•Uses Microsoft Outlook for all scheduling.
•Orders books, manuals and other resources for use

Testing: Internal and External:
•Follows procedures set up to ensure the integrity of test data.
•Coordinates, schedules and invigilates all tests including internal CNC tests (unit tests, final exams, diagnostics tests, tests for Accessibility Services students,etc) and external testing for other colleges, universities, agencies that occur in Testing and Tutoring Services.
•Coordinates invigilators and room bookings for after-hours testing, and larger groups, including SRA invigilators.
•Marks and scores specific tests using an answer key or the optical reader (SRA test), generates reports for each student, and where required assigns marks using the instructor’s manual.
•Forwards all SRA score results to Advising and Admissions.
•Invigilates tests as required.
•Schedules, trains invigilators for special testing sessions and completes paperwork for payment for service.
•Supports the Regional Campuses by scoring SRA tests.
•Records and forwards material to Regional Campuses or other locations where offsite testing will occur.
•Calculates cut-off scores from program information using CAT/4 Technical Manual procedures and submits to the software provider.

•Generates cheque requisitions for services provided to Testing and Tutoring Services, and requests for billing for services and supplies provided by CNC both for internal and external users.
•Collects and records fees for external examinations.
•Provides the Director, Resource Centres with required reports including monthly report of tests written, usage, cumulative admissions testing by discipline every three months, and other reports as requested.
•Generates various reports using Microsoft Outlook.

Skills & Qualifications

•Recognized one (1) year certificate inAdministrative Assistant or Business Administration
•three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent
•Administrative Assistant or Business Administration
•Keyboarding skills of 50 wpm.
•Proven ability to work positively with a very demanding workload, changing priorities, and continuous interruptions and to coordinate activities with the work of the team.
•Ability to work independently and meet extremely demanding work schedules and deadlines, over which the incumbent has little or no control.
•Proficient in appropriate technological resources including the following computer application areas: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Web based research.
•Colleague experience preferred.
•PearsonVue Certification and Clockworks experience, preferred.
•Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to contribute positively to a team oriented work environment.
•High degree of sensitivity to both verbal and non-verbal cues.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
